Accepting New Clients
A strengths-based approach is the foundation of Alex’s work with clients. Through this approach, he allows the momentum of self-insight plus motivation for change to drive the therapeutic work. Alex recognizes how a person’s place in their environment can have profound effects on how they experience life. In his work with clients, he opens up space for people to explore areas of ambivalence and to experiment with profound, sometimes radical, acceptance of life’s experiences. Alex uses a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness in his work. Through these approaches, he helps his clients build the skills needed to regulate emotions, navigate crises, and communicate more effectively in relationships.
Alex is a true believer in the power of therapy to help clients reconnect with their inner truth. He understands every person is a combination of parts and that sometimes these parts appear to be in opposition with one another. Alex is particularly interested in helping people get to know, celebrate, and integrate all their unique parts.
